Autumn Newsletter.

 

AGM

 

            We are holding our Annual General Meeting on 3rd November 2008 at The Angel View Hotel at 7:30pm for an 8:00p.m start. 

 

 

At the recent Council Meeting it was requested that the Area’s put the following items at their Area AGM. For discussion: -

 

  1. Raise any topics to be put forward for discussion at the Judges conference

 

  1. Discuss an ides for competitions to be run at Area Summer shows with a final to be held at the Summer Championships show.

 

 

 

 

 

The Annual Points Christmas Party.

           

Will be held again at Chilton Country Pub and hotel on the 30th November 2008 4-8pm. Please note the new venue the post code is DH4 6PY.       Please again ensure all your cards are sent to Alison and Katie and fill in the enclosed slip so again we know numbers. I’m sure you will agree it was a superb day last year. So we will be following the same format disco and party games and of course points prizes all with a lovely buffet supper. All area children are free however if they want to bring a friend the cost will be £7:00 and the cost for adults is £10.

There is a reply slip for the party at the bottom of this letter please return it to either Alison or Katie by the 15th of November 

We will again be holding a raffle at the point’s party and would be grateful for any prizes.

 

Teams

           

Huge congratulations to the Young Judges Team who were placed 2nd at Peterborough  Thanks once again to Valerie Swinburn for training the young judges; Samantha Catton, Jade Thompson and Charlotte Millar, Julie Swinburn was our individual competitor and was placed a credible 6th.

Area 1A were once again successful in the team competitions being placed 2nd in the show pony section at the Championships, thanks once again to Richard Anderson our chef d’equipe.

Future Young Judges Valerie Swinburn will be holding a competition in the Christmas holidays for future Young Judges –details will follow but please let Valerie or any committee member know if you are interested.

Scholarships

           

Following on from the success of awarding scholarships last year we are repeating this competition again this year but with a slightly different format. The committee have put forward a list of promising candidates who they feel  would benefit from a training bursary which can be redeemed against tuition for flat lessons, jumping or dressage or anything else you feel you need! There will be two awards made at the Christmas point’s party

            Warm Up Show – Sunday 29th March. 2009

 

Instructional Course

 

We will be running a Flat Course with Mathew Lawrence on Saturday 28th of March 2009 further details will follow for what is sure to be a popular course.

 

Winter Points Series

This winter we are running 4 novice shows and will continue to run a points series attached to them . Please keep a record of your results; the rules will be the same as the summer point’s series.

Valentine’s Ball

February 14th 2009 at Ramside Hall Hotel Tickets will be available after Christmas from either Katy or Alison.
