WORKING HUNTER PONIES

 

Class 1            BSPS Cradle Stakes.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 122cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 11th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 2            BSPS Nursery Stakes.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 133cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

Open Mini WHP Championship – 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 1 and 2.  The Champion will

Qualify for the Gill Genders Champion of Champions.

 

Class 3            BSPS Mixed Height Novice WHP/Intermediate WH.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over

not exceeding 158cms.  Riders must jump in their correct height section and be the correct

age for the height of the animal they ride.  Riders must declare if they are competing in the

153cm or the intermediate section.

Class 4            BSPS WHP mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 133cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 5            BSPS WHP mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 133cms and not exceeding 143cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 6            BSPS WHP mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 143cms and not exceeding 153cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 7            BSPS Open Intermediate WHP mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms.  Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

Open WHP Championship – 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 4, 5, 6 and 7.  The Champion will

qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

 

Class 8            Open Working Hunter Horse class exceeding 148cms.  Jumps max 3’.  The horses in the above

class will give a short display and will not be ridden by the judge.

SHOW HUNTER PONIES

 

Class 9            BSPS Open Intermediate Show Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding

148cms but not exceeding 158cms.  Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before

1st Jan 2009.

Class 10          BSPS Mixed Height Novice Show Hunter Pony.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 153cms.  Riders must be the correct age for the height of the animal they ride.

Class 11          BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 143cms and not exceeding 153cms.  Riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 12          BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 133cms and not exceeding 143cms.  Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 13          BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 122cms and not exceeding 133cms.  Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 14          BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 122cms.  Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

Open Show Hunter Pony Championship - 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 11, 12, 13 and 14. 

The Champion will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

 

Class 15          BSPS Lead Rein Pony of Hunter Type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 122cms.  Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 17          BSPS First Ridden Pony mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 122cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

Open Mini Championship – 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 16 and 17.  The Champion will

qualify for the BSPS Maestir Stud Champion of Champions.

 

Class 18          BSPS Show pony mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 128cms. 

Riders not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 19          BSPS Show pony mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 128cms but not

exceeding 138cms.  Riders not to have attained their 15th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 20          BSPS Show pony mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 138cms but not

exceeding 148cms.  Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

Open Show Pony Championship - 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 18, 19 and 20.  The Champion

will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

 

Class 21          BSPS Mixed height novice show pony mare or gelding 4 years old or over not

exceeding 148cms.  Riders must be the correct age for the height of pony they ride.

 

Class 22          BSPS Mixed height intermediate show riding type.  Mare or gelding 4 years old or

over exceeding 146cms but not exceeding 158cms.  Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

HERITAGE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN

 

Class 23          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden.  Registered pure bred Fell,

Highland, Dales and Welsh section D ponies 4 years old or over.  Riders any age.

Class 24          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden.  Registered pure bred

New Forest and Connemara ponies 4 years old or over.  Riders any age.

Class 25          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden.  Registered pure bred

Welsh section B and C ponies 4 years old or over.  Riders any age.

Class 26          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden.  Registered pure bred Dartmoor,

Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh section A ponies 4 years old or over.  Riders any age.

 

BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden Championship – Open to 1st and 2nd prize winners

from classes 23, 24, 25 and 26.  The Champion will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of

Champions.

 

Class 27          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Lead Rein.  Registered pure bred mare or

gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 122cms.  Riders not to have attained their 9th

birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

Class 28          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open First Ridden.  Registered pure bred mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 128cms.  Riders not to have attained their 12th

birthday before 1st Jan 2009.

 

BSPS Heritage Mini Championship – Open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 27 and 28. 

The Champion will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

Class 29          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open WHP.  Registered pure bred ponies 4 years

old or over not exceeding 122cms.  Riders any age. 

Class 30          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open WHP.  Registered pure bred ponies 4 years

old or over exceeding 122cms but not exceeding 138cms.  Riders any age. 

Class 31          BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open WHP.  Registered pure bred ponies 4 years

old or over exceeding 138cms.  Riders any age. 

 

BSPS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open WHP Championship – 1st and 2nd prize winners from

classes 29, 30 and 31.  The Champion will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

 

 

 

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A BSPS MEMBER TO COMPETE AT THIS SHOW

THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD SHOW is a charity aimed at raising money to benefit children in

hospitals throughout the North of England.  ALL profits from this show go to the charity so ALL donations

are much appreciated.

 

 

 

BSPS Summer Championships

 

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Summer Championships.  1st and 2nd prize winners in the following

will qualify:  Open Lead Rein, Open First Ridden, Open 128cm, 138cm and 148cm show ponies.

 

1st and 2nd prize winners in the following will qualify:  Open nursery stakes, open 133cm, 143cm and

153cm WHP.  Open 122cm, 133cm, 143cm and 153cm SHP.

 

1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners in the following will qualify;  Cradle stakes, Open intermediate classes

including mixed height intermediates and Heritage Mountain and Moorland Classes.

 

Mixed Height Classes:  1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ponies will qualify.

 

The highest placed 133cm in the Open 138cms show pony class and the highest placed 143cms in

the Open 148cms show pony class will qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.  (Riders must

produce their card for the judge to sign whilst in the ring)

 

BSPS Premier League:  This show is a qualifier for the ‘BSPS Premier League’ the 1st, 2nd and

3rd placed ponies in the Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type,

Open SHP, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, Open WHP, Intermediate SRT, WH & SH and Heritage

Lead Rein, First ridden, Ridden and WHP Classes.

 

BSPS Travel Trust Assoc Challenge:  This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge. 

The highest placed pony in the Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Show Pony, LR of HT, Open SHP,

Cradle & Nursery Stakes, Open WHP, Open Intermediate SRT, WH and SH and the Heritage

Leading Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP Classes that has not qualified for the 2009 HOYS

in the appropriate class will qualify.  If the highest placed has already qualified the qualification

will be awarded to the next eligible pony.

 

BSPS Harry Hall Rider of the Year:  The Best Rider in each of the following open classes at

all BSPS Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS

Summer Championships Show:  Lead Rein, First Ridden, Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type,

SHP, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, WHP, Intermediate SRT, SH and WH, Heritage Lead Rein,

First Ridden and the best rider

25 years and under in the Heritage Ridden and Heritage WHP Classes.

 

BSPS E-MAIL Accumulator Competition:  This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS E-Mail

Entry fees £7.50 per class if received by Closing Date 31st July 2009.

 

All entries on the day £10 per class.

 

Prizes will be awarded as follows:  1st  £5,  2nd  £3,  3rd  £2.

Where there are less than 6 entries in a class 1st prize money only will be awarded.
